Position Summary:
The Cost Accountant will perform advanced cost accounting analyses to compare estimated costs to actual costs and prepare a variety of related budget reports.

Position requires a high degree of concentration to manage frequent interruptions while meeting strict deadlines. This position requires the ability to perform duties using both typical office equipment such as computers, cell phones, and printers as well as the ability to communicate and perform tasks in an office environment. Must be able to perform physical and mental tasks associated within a manufacturing environment.

The Cost Accountant will perform advanced cost accounting analyses to compare estimated costs to actual costs and prepare a variety of related budget reports.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Audit BOMs work with Engineering to maintain BOM accuracy.
- Reviews and analyzes actual costs to identify inaccuracies.
- Performs month-end and year-end closings with assistance.
- Update or create OH codes and formulas.
- Audit product site setup and OH calculations ensuring correct setup
- Audit and maintain PO price books with purchasing on changes and price rolls.
- Work with ECO changes, coordinate and perform
- Maintain intercompany and interstate SO/PO price books
- Active parts clean up and maintenance within the item master.
- Perform other duties and analytics as required.
- A Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Business Administration is required.
- At least two years of experience in cost accounting required.
- Strong accounting, project coordinating and administrative skills
- Proficiency in MS office computer skills including Outlook, Word, and Excel as well as accounting software.
- Experience with Sage a plus but not a requirement.
- Proficient in data entry and management
- Very strong people/communications skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Understanding of BOMs and how they work
- Understanding of work orders and how they process
- Ethical conduct
- Personal effectiveness/credibility
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Excellent problem solving and organization skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with a team.
