Job Description

McKinley has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Tax Accountant to join our corporate team headquartered in Ann Arbor, MI! This position will have a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with preparing federal, state, and city tax return compliance using CCH Axcess for multiple entities and states. Multiple entities include S-Corporations and individuals with a focus on partnership tax return compliance.
  • Fixed asset maintenance of the company‚Äôs residential, commercial, and corporate assets.
  • Preparation of various other tax types including sales and use tax, personal property tax, and other state tax filings.
  • Assist with research of technical tax issues related to return preparation including staying current with tax law changes, through a combination of outside training and individual study.
  • Preparation and analysis of current or future transactions as required.
  • Preparation of year-end tax projections for entities and internal taxpayers, analyzing projection results for potential issues or planning opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with all tax and accounting team members and management.
  • Various other duties and projects as assigned.
Job Requirements

Qualifications:

A successful candidate will be highly dependable and will thrive in a deadline driven environment. They will be self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as with a team.

We are looking for someone with:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to multi-task.
  • Some tax preparation and tax research experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures and instructions.
  • 0-2 years of professional accounting or tax experience.
