Job Description

The Opportunity:

Mattel is currently seeking a Director of Brand Marketing and Creative in support of our Infant, Toddler & Preschool businesses including Thomas and Friends. The Director will help drive strategic direction and marketing communications for IPS’ categories and individual brands. The key to the continued success and growth in the IPS portfolio is creating and delivering compelling brand stories and best-in-class campaign strategies. We have an opportunity to elevate the categories and individual brands within the Fisher-Price portfolio to drive awareness and demand and grow revenue globally.

What Your Impact Will Be:

1. Fisher Price and Thomas and Friends global brand communications and brand creative strategy:
  • Create, champion & execute against business & brand objectives:
  • Create and deliver compelling & effective brand and item-level campaigns to gain market share and increase revenue
  • Create and deliver best-in-class global assets that address the changing media landscape and how kids and adults are consuming content & interacting with brands
  • In partnership with the Franchise team, evolve Thomas and Friends’ brand positioning and communications strategy to resonate with today’s parents & kids. Create and deliver effective assets to tell a cohesive brand story and drive growth.
  • Share & inspire adoption of plans across internal & external stakeholders (Global Franchise, Global Content, GBT Marketing, Regional Markets, Mattel Corporate)
  • Strong storyteller, with a deep understanding of consumer behavior, current advertising tactics, and retail marketing
  • Set metrics to measure success (brand health/brand reach, global revenue)
2. Lead Category/Brand Marketing teams:
  • Direct and lead efforts across multiple communication touch points to ensure brand visual & voice consistency across categories/brands:
  • Communications strategy, across assets: linear, digital (web, mobile & social), marketing communications, GBT PR and brand development activities across the organization
  • Oversee the development of global marketing assets to ensure global brand consistency
  • Prioritize and focus efforts across portfolio
  • Manage to brand guidelines & budget
3.Talent development :
  • Ensure reports are growing & developing to their fullest potential.
Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:
  • 10+ years of consumer marketing experience
  • 5+ years of consumer products marketing, toy preferred
  • Strong business acumen, including an understanding of omnichannel retail
  • Strong people leader with a focus on developing talent
  • Experience creating and executing successful marketing campaigns using the latest tactics
  • Innovative thinker with strong strategic and creative problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication & collaboration skills
  • Detail oriented and highly organized
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Can-do, positive attitude
