Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a Senior Marine Structural Engineer for our New York, NY office

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Undertaking design and planning activities on maritime projects - container terminals, mining/bulk, oil/gas, marinas, ports and harbors, offshore wind, coastal resiliency, and development schemes
  • Independently prepare calculations, drawings, and specifications and documents, and oversee the development of technical deliverables prepared by junior structural engineers.
  • Oversee the work of junior structural engineers. Perform quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
  • Participate in the development of technical scope and design fee estimates in response to RFP’s.
  • Lead and coordinate marine team with other in-house and subconsultant engineering disciplines as needed. Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
  • Perform condition assessments and site visits as needed.
  • Occasional short to medium term site visits may also become necessary depending on project requirements
  • Work alongside a project manager to ensure technical and business-related successes of projects.
Qualifications
  • BA/BS + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Additional Information
  • Master of Science with Structural Engineering concentration
  • Ten (10) plus years’ experience as a Structural Engineer with a focus in ports, marine and waterfront projects
  • Experience with computer analysis and design software such as SAP 2000, RISA 3D, STAAD.Pro, SAFE
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
Additional Information:

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $187,000.
