Parallel is hiring a Warehouse & Transportation Manager for our client in Milwaukee. This position is responsible for the management of transportation and distribution of goods as well as the daily operation of all warehousing and material handling activities including inventory control. This role will manage the warehouse and transportation team and will report to the Director of Operations.

• Drive a culture rooted in Employee Safety, Food Safety and Continuous Improvement
• Plan and manage logistics, transportation and warehouse operations
• Work across functions (Sales, Customer Service, Finance, Operations and Quality) to drive efficient operation and effective distribution of goods
• Monitor and assess performance with respect to quality, quantity, inventory, delivery times, transportation and warehousing costs and efficiency
• Develop and maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements
• Meet cost, productivity, accuracy and timeliness targets
• Work closely with Customer Service and serve as a true voice of the customer
• Coordinate material movement and inventory management in support of daily production needs
• Report freight variance to budget and impacting factors
• Lead continuous improvement efforts across all areas of responsibility
• Manage relationships, processes and technology with carrier partners
• Resolve any arising problems or complaints
• Supervise, coach and train the warehouse team
• Comply with laws, regulations and Food Safety and HACCP requirements
• Provide leadership, direction, and coaching for all assigned direct reports
• Other duties as assigned

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, talk and/or hear, and/or use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 50 lbs while moving product and/or packaging. Specific vision abilities required by this job include far and near vision. Depth perception is required to move around departments and supplies. The employee must be able to hear.
