Overview of Position:

As a Senior Human Resources Generalist / Human Resources Manager, you are a partner and advocate to our managers, leadership and employees at the Territorial Headquarters in West Nyack, NY. You provide guidance regarding various HR programs and provide recommendations on new strategies and communications.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Human Resources Generalist / Human Resources Manager, you will:
  • Ensure that our polices fulfill legal requirements are interpreted and adhered to consistently.
  • Maintain an “open door” policy for employees and manage employee relations to proactively handle employee concerns.
  • Understand the organizational structure, and partner with managers to identify staffing needs. Coach managers on compensation program and best practices.
  • Oversee the performance evaluation process.
  • Administer benefits enrollments and terminations for our health plan, life insurance, long term disability, pension, etc. Responsible for handling FMLA, disability, unemployment and workers compensation claims.
  • Provide oversight and ensure accuracy of information in the UKG HR/Payroll system.
  • Implement communications that ensure staff are knowledgeable of policies, procedures, benefits, etc.
  • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency.
Qualifications

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR, business or related field
  • 5-7 years of related experience; 7-10 years preferred
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state and local laws
  • Good interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Thorough knowledge of HR policies and procedures
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience with UKG Pro/Ready a plus
  • Experience with small/medium size businesses helpful
  • SHRM and/or HRCI certification helpful
