The Risk Management Coordinator is responsible for assisting with coordinating activities outlined in Comprehensive Community Health Centers (CCHC) Risk Management Program. The Coordinator, in partnership with the Director of Emergency Operations and Risk Management (Director), focuses on positive outcomes in patient experience, safe high quality of care, employee safety, and reduction of risks related to these areas. The Coordinator also assists with ensuring that CCHC's training curriculum is completed and materials are appropriate about areas of clinical risk and safety.

  • Monitor CCHC Complaint Hotline and respond to complaints.
  • Monitor grievances received from health plans, IPA's and other outside entities.
  • Maintains logs for the tracking of complaints, grievances, and incidents.
  • Responsible for conducting internal investigations.
  • Responsible for creating and mailing correspondence related to RM.
  • Responsible for providing complaint, grievance and incident data to CCHC senior executives.
  • Active participant on CCHC's Emergency Management Committee (EMC).
  • Provide administrative support to the Compliance and Risk Management (RM) Departments.
  • Attend CCALAC meetings related to Emergency/Disaster Preparedness.
  • Works with legal counsel as directed by the CAO or Director in situations of medical malpractice or subpoenas received for any CCHC providers.
  • Ensuring adherence with federal and state regulations and accreditation standards.
  • Collaborate with HR and Compliance to ensure onboarding and annual trainings related to RM, EM, and Injury Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) are completed and materials are appropriate.
  • Assist Director in completing the annual FTCA application.
  • Assist with completing Environment Hazard Safety surveys at all sites.
  • Attend meetings, conferences and trainings as deemed necessary for the department.
  • Travel to clinic locations as needed to conduct assessments.
  • Process medical records requests in a timely manner
  • Protect the security of medical records to ensure that confidentiality is maintained
  • Retrieve patient medical records through EHR system
  • Review records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with regulations
  • Use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations or standards
  • Release information to persons or agencies according to regulations, including subpoenas
  • Other Duties as assigned

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with medical records required
  • Previous experience with healthcare-related risk management preferred
  • Ability to find solutions when barriers are identified.
  • Strong reading and writing skills.
  • Strong documentation skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize when needed.
  • Ability to independently seek out resources and work collaboratively.
  • Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Experience and work ethics that supports working within a high functioning, team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrates a willingness and ability to work under supervision.
  • Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with staff.
  • Ability to use computer and learn new software programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills reflecting clarity and diplomacy and the ability to communicate accurately and effectively with all levels of staff and management.
  • Demonstrates ability to work in a regulatory climate that includes oversight of state and federal entities, payer contracts etc.
  • Possesses ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Possesses genuine respect for others and acceptance of their individual social and cultural traits.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Able to travel and attend professional meetings, conferences, trainings and clinic sites.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, enthusiasm, and willingness to cooperate while working with others in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Position requires prolonged sitting at a computer, some bending, lifting, stooping and stretching. Good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard, photocopy machine, telephone, and other office equipment is also required. Employee must have normal range of hearing and eyesight.
