Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Director of Human Resources/Talent Acquisition Manager, the Talent Acquisition Specialist applies professional talent planning, sourcing, recruitment and on boarding methods in the development, implementation and administration of MVHS’ talent management goals, systems, processes, policies and procedures.

Core Job Responsibilities

Assisting the hiring managers in defining their strategic workforce needs as a foundation for understanding recruitment objectives; Assisting the hiring managers with defining the qualities, characteristics and KSAs for positions open for recruitment; Assisting the hiring managers with establishing value propositions which will be used to campaign for positions open for recruitment.

Reviewing search strategies with MVHS hiring managers to determine sourcing options for talent stream development, developing and leveraging appropriate sourcing approaches and methods to develop the sourcing talent pool of high match candidates; Assists in writing talent sourcing campaign materials specific to each individualized search, and targeted to high potential candidates from a ‘candidate value’ perspective. Reviews campaign materials with manager prior to posting; Engages in source development activities such as conducting informational and exploratory communication with soft candidates/passive job seekers, answering queries from active job seekers.

Tracks and reviews candidates received daily through sourcing methods for match with position specifications for each search campaign, and reaches out to applicants and managers regarding potential candidacy for each search; Routinely confers with hiring manager(s) on talent campaign status and slate of available candidates to assess effectiveness of talent campaign, updating and improving campaign approaches and methods as needed; Assist hiring manager in scheduling individual or team behavior interviews, preparing interview guides and scoring guides as needed. Assist in training behavioral interview teams on interview process, legal issues involved in interviewing, and on utilization of interview and guides to evaluate candidates’ potential for performance against expectations; Serves as routine contact for applicants and candidates in assigned areas to ensure high engagement throughout the interview, selection and on boarding process; Assesses candidates with hiring manager in preparation for candidate selection, verifying quality selection process; Upon candidate selection by hiring manager, makes contingent offer of employment to selected candidate, defining rate of pay, post-hire/pre-employment background requirements and timeframes, scheduling screening appointments, and providing on-going contact and connection with the selected candidate through the screening process.

Maintains accurate and timely data elements regarding the talent acquisition/onboarding process through routine updating of the HRIS/ATS system(s); Tracks candidate response to position, interviews, job offers and the onboarding process for use in continuing process improvement; Continuous onboarding contact with selected candidate, including supervisor and team welcome note, pre-orientation onboarding material, orientation information, and other related candidate engagement interactions; Provide education for managers and recruitment teams on the end-to-end onboarding process, roles and responsibilities, manager-recruiter partnerships, hiring for success, legal elements of recruitment and hiring, and team behavioral interviewing processes.

Education/Experience Requirements

Required: Bachelors degree in Business Administration, HR or closely related field
Preferred: Associate degree in business administration, HR or closely related field along with four (4) years of direct experience in healthcare recruitment

Licensure/Certification Requirements

Required: N/A
Preferred: PRC certification (strongly preferred); CIR/ACIR and/or CSSR/CSMR certification
