Position Overview

Align seeks an enthusiastic and detail-oriented accountant with two to four years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate will have public accounting experience and a solid understanding of accounting fundamentals with a passion to learn. This person should have baseline experience such as Cash Management, Bank Reconciliation, and Expense Analysis. Responsible for all aspects of general accounting including various entries in Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains. The Accountant will help compile financial information to prepare reports, assist in the month end close, other accounting statements and ad hoc projects as necessary and completed within the required timeframe. This candidate needs to be an effective team player who possesses excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. To be successful we expect this person to be both goal driven and detail oriented.
  • The hybrid position will primarily work remotely with onsite work at our Iselin, NJ office one or two days a week
  • This is afull-time position offering full benefits, a competitive salary, paid training and performance-based compensation
Responsibilities
  • Responds to inquiries and requests from the Controller regarding financial results, reporting, and related tasks
  • Assist with account analysis and month end close
  • Assists in maintaining a system of internal control and safeguards for expenditures and costs
  • Must learn our accounting tools and systems such as Great Plains / MS Dynamics GP and ConnectWise
  • Learn and help with Sales Tax, State Registrations, and Avalara Tax Software
  • Assist the CFO on various special projects
  • Accounts Payable Reconciliation may include the following:
  • Research vendor payment issues
  • Validate accounts payable report to the General Ledger
  • Assist with the analysis, generation and exporting of monthly employee expense reports via ConnectWise
  • Account Receivable Support may Include the following:
  • Reconcile daily cash activities including applying customer payments
  • Research customer payment questions
  • Validate accounts receivable report to the General Ledger
  • Work performance continuously meets or exceeds high quality and accuracy standards
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work with others and function as a collaborative team
  • Knowledgeable and stays current and complies with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting is required
  • 2 to 4 years of public accounting experience would be strongly preferred, while relevant corporate accounting experience will also be considered
  • Strong Excel skills are required
  • Competency in General Ledger and Accounting Principles
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains and/or ConnectWise is a plus
  • Sales and Use Tax experience would be prefered
  • Detailed oriented with a focus on accuracy
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to change in priorities
  • Strong collaboration, communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
