Tatum is actively looking for an experienced Senior Accountant for a rapidly growing Environmental Services & Recycling company in the Irving, Dallas area.

This role applies highly complex principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports, and coordinates the implementation of accounting control.

responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Completes month-end and year-end close functions including preparing journal entries, assisting with the review of department financials, and working with other departments and field business units throughout the close process.
• Prepares highly complex journal entries for entry into the general ledger system on a monthly basis by collecting necessary data, analyzing and/or allocating costs and preparing audit trail support for the journal entries.
• Performs monthly reconciliations of balances sheet accounts mainly associated with cash and payroll related liabilities. Most of these reconciliations are considered high-volume and/or high-risk accounts ranging from a high to moderate level of difficulty.
• Works closely with Accounts Payable, Cash Applications, and various other Payroll groups by leading monthly meetings with these teams to discuss new and ongoing matters identified in reconciliations, journal entries, or via other reviews.
• Prepares financial reports in a timely and accurate manner; and completes individual analytical projects in a satisfactory manner given abstract project guidelines.
• Participates in monthly financial meetings for discussion and review of monthly financial reports.
• Will mentor, guide and teach staff on developing new accounting processes.

qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master Degree in Accounting -CPA is a preferred
• 5-7 years of experience and managerial experience
• Ability to work in a fast pace environment -Public company experience is desired
