About being a Construction Manager with Psomas

You will manage construction of multiple projects at the City of Sunnyvale's Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP) located in the Silicon Valley, California. The ongoing Projects are part of a series of planned upgrades and expansions at the WPCP, including new Secondary Treatment/Dewatering Facilities and the Rehabilitation of existing facilities over the next 5+ years. Based on Sunnyvale's overall Program, this is a long-term project with potential for growth.

Responsibility Highlights for a Construction Manager with Psomas
  • Serving as primary owner representative overseeing, performing, and coordinating daily construction management
  • Leading resolution of day-to-day construction issues
  • Interacting with clients, designers, owners, contractors, inspectors, and regulatory agencies including leading meetings and generating correspondence
  • Directing and supervising field construction activities and contract administration including staff and specialty subconsultants
  • Administering construction contracts including review of contractor's schedules, responding to claims received from contractor, documenting progress of project, and answering requests for information, submittals, and change orders
  • Monitoring that the project is constructed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, budget, and schedule
  • Enabling project success while facilitating the resolution of all project issues in a fair and firm manner
Minimum Qualifications for a Construction Manager
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related engineering discipline
  • Active California Professional Engineering (PE) license or Certified Construction Manager (CCM)
  • 10+ years of related work experience
  • Prefer 5 years of experience in the start-up and testing of wastewater infrastructure
