Job Summary:

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the Corporate and Fiduciary Accounting and Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis functions. The position will work closely with other staff members to ensure that all Corporate and Fiduciary accounting entries are recorded in accordance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.

Essential Responsibilities includes, but is not limited to, the following:
  • Perform accounting functions related to accounts receivable, prepaids, fixed assets, intangibles, inter-company receivables, accrued expenses, debt, and shareholder distributions.
  • Perform accounting functions related to fiduciary accounting, including premium processing, account reconciliations and mortgage billing
  • Manage the corporate Accounts Payable process by coding, entering, and routing invoices for approval
  • Process void checks and reissue requests and record cash receipts and manual checks as needed
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, board reporting and business KPI reporting.
  • Participate in annual GAAP audit, tax preparation and client audits.
  • Assist with annual budget and reforecast process.
  • Assist with ad hoc requests and other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

Four-year degree in Accounting or related Business degree with Accounting emphasis.

0-2 years of relevant experience.

Intermediate or advanced user of Excel.

Proficient with Word and PowerPoint.

Experience with Sage 100 a plus.

Other Skills and Knowledge:

Excellent communication skills

Must be a self-starter that can work independently

Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.

Strong organizational and time management skills

Must be analytical in nature and not complacent with the status quo
