Responsibilities:
- Non-discriminatory recruitment and selection of production and office personnel.
- Conduct reference checks, employee orientations, conduct employment authorization verifications, arrange pre-employment drug screens, etc.
- Become the company's employment authorization expert (Form I-9 Subject Matter Expert) and ensure follow up on expired immigration cards.
- Educate eligible employees on benefit programs, gaining proper enrollment information; handle benefit inquiries and complaints to ensure quick, equitable and courteous resolution.
- Effectively supervise timekeeping procedures.
- Interpret and enforce company policies and ensure compliance with Federal and State employment, labor and safety regulations.
- Primary liaison with temporary staffing agencies, local job service personnel, community leaders, etc. -
- Responsible for coordination of personnel activities with proper supervisors to promote employee relations.
- Coordinate training programs to ensure legal compliance such as workplace violence, diversity, anti-harassment, etc. -
- Partner with supervisors/managers in handling conflict resolution, corrective and disciplinary actions as well as assist in conducting workplace investigations.
- Follow open door policy.
- Maintain and manage job postings (internal and external).
- Establish recruiting requirements by studying company needs; meet with supervisors/managers to discuss needs.
- Improve company attractiveness by recommending new policies and practices; monitoring job offers and compensation practices; emphasizing benefits and perks.
- Determine applicant qualifications by interviewing applicants, analyzing responses, and comparing qualifications to job requirements.
- Coordinate interview and Post Offer Functional Assessments (PFAs) schedules.
- Maintain recruiting reports (production staffing, interview, rehires, etc.).
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Avoid legal challenges by understanding current legislation; enforcing regulations with managers; recommending new procedures.
- Continually seek innovative ways to attract new talent.
Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Business Administration with a Human Resources or Safety emphasis, or related field.
- 3-5 years' experience in employee relations, customer service, or in production environment preferably in manufacturing/processing/packaging.
- Current knowledge of State and Federal employment laws and regulations, Labor and Employee Relations, Occupational Safety and benefits.
- Involved in timekeeping procedures, employee recruitment & retention, and discipline and terminations.
- Experience with a wide range of HR and Safety generalist duties including work rules and policy interpretations, employee relations, community involvement and HR Policies and procedures.
- Associate Degree or bachelor's degree in Human Resources desired.
- 2 years' demonstrable experience in HR &Recruiting .
- Fluent in Spanish (reading, writing, and speaking)
