Summary

Facilities and IT Specialist

The primary purpose of the position provides support for the development/operation maintenance/and programming activities of the physical buildings and IT systems in a school.

Summary/Description: The Facilities and IT Specialist provides planning, coordination, and comprehensive support services in most of the following areas: MDM server, applications, internet and technical issues and troubleshooting; security systems, office furnishings, expendable supplies, and services; property management and accountability; space management; telecommunications; building management; liaison with the building management and services vendor and their facility staff and in other areas as assigned.

Duties

Typical duties include:

Business/Facility Management: Liaises with the building owner and management company and provided engineering and maintenance contractors on issues regarding the HVAC, ventilation, space renovation, and operation and maintenance. Ensures adequate level and quality of services are provided that support HRIMS's programs.
Responsible for maintenance, repair, construction and operation of facilities to ensure cost effective and reliable support
Maintains various records such as Fire Life Safety Plans, Disaster Recovery Plans, Facility Guides, Building Maintenance Tracking List, and other building-related documents
Plan utilization of space and facilities for supported facilities consistent with requirements of organizational efficiency and available facilities and funds and establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans, budgets and schedules
Identifies problems and develops solutions such as allocation of resources or changing project scope
Telecommunications and IT: Coordinates and arranges with staff for all telephone and internet-related services, as well as MDM server control, software, security system and device enrollment.
Maintains licenses, updates, and app installation to software and operating systems on computers and ipads.
Troubleshoots internet and computer technical issues.
Networks printers and computers, ipads, etc.
Security Management & Safety: Monitors and ensures maintenance of security system and physical facility security.
Provides support to special events sponsored by the Institute.

Requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications:
U.S. Citizenship.
Fluency in the English Language
3 years of relevant experience minimum

Education and Certifications: High School Diploma Required, relevant Associates, Bachelor's degree or Certification preferred.

Competencies Attention to detail, effectiveness and efficiency when performing work. Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively and work independently or in a team environment Good knowledge of MDM Server Operations and MAC and PC Operating Systems Good knowledge of building, mechanical and industrial principles Good organizational and planning skills Good interpersonal and strong written/verbal communication skill Ability to work flexible hours as needed to manage repairs and services when necessary.Competencies Attention to detail, effectiveness and efficiency when performing work.
