TECKpert seeks to hire a Telecommunication Technician to support our client, a government agency based in Miami Dade County, FL.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
This opportunity is for a full-time, one year contract position with possible extensions and pay commensurate with experience up to $34.36/hour or $71,474 per year. Medical, dental, vision and life insurance available after 30 days of hire.
Candidates are expected to work onsite at our client’s location.

The project
TECKpert seeks to hire a Telecommunication Technician to support our client, a government agency based in Miami Dade County, FL.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Upgrading and maintaining companies' current telecommunications systems.
- Evaluating customers' needs and installing telecommunications systems that best meet those needs.
- Running routine tests on telecommunications systems to ensure that all components are functioning at optimal levels.
- Performing diagnostic testing on problematic telecommunications systems to identify and resolve various technical faults.
- Performing temporary fixes until extensive repair work can be done at a later date.
- Checking all wiring work done to ensure that there are no exposed cables.
- Ordering replacement components for telecommunications equipment and devices from suitable vendors.
- Investigating and resolving customers' complaints in a timely manner.
- Maintaining an accurate record of all work orders completed per day, answering customers' questions, and planning for installations by reviewing customers' orders and ensuring that all necessary supplies and tools are on hand.
- Responsible for repairing, installing, modifying, and upgrading companies' telecommunications systems and related equipment.
- Identify technical faults through diagnostic testing, ensure that there are no exposed cables, and order replacement components as needed.

Qualifications you need
A successful Telecommunication Technician possesses or provides the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Engineering or similar field
- Completion of a postsecondary education program in telecommunications, telecommunications technology, computer science, or a related field.
- Proven experience working as a telecommunications technician.
- Sound knowledge of telecommunications systems.
- The ability to interpret technical manuals and schematic designs.
- The ability to work well under pressure.
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
- Proven customer service skills

- Comprehensive knowledge of telecommunications networks
- Experience planning, designing and implementing voice and data networks
- Proven teamwork ability
