Telecommunications Engineer/Analyst Full-time

Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Principal Telecommunications Engineer/Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will become part of Peraton’s Department of State (DoS) Diplomatic Security Cyber Mission (DSCM) program providing leading cyber and technology security experience to enable innovative, effective and secure business processes. Peraton’s DSCM program encompasses technical, engineering, data analytics, cyber security, management, operational, logistical and administrative support to aid and advise DoS Diplomatic Security Cyber Operations. This includes protecting a global cyber infrastructure comprising networks, systems, information, and mobile devices all while identifying and responding to cyber risks and threats. Those supporting Peraton’s DSCM program strive to leverage their expert knowledge and propose creative solutions to real-world cybersecurity challenges.

This position requires a Top-Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility. This position is located in Rosslyn, VA.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the National Telecommunications Security Working Group (NTSWG) Telecommunications in the development of security regulations governing OCONUS and domestic systems
  • Provide direct assistance and evaluate telephony security in accordance with industry best practices, installation guidance, and product selection expertise for secure voice DOS programs
  • Provide technical expertise in support of telephone security assessments to ensure compliance with the National Telecommunications Security Working Group (NTSWG) standards and DOS OSPB standards
  • Provide telephone systems vulnerability mitigation plans based upon DOS polices/standards
  • Research and formulate new hardware and software products to provide cost efficient security and risk mitigated upgrade solutions for Department’s secure telephone systems
  • Perform post-installation compliance inspection of telecommunication systems
  • Manage TSP travel, local operating fund budget and equipment budget based on a three-year refresh of hardware and software
  • Archive and distribute TSP reports; track follow-on actions and activities.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree and 9 years of experience is required (7 years of experience with a Master’s). In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, 4 years of additional experience may be substituted
  • Possess CASP+ CE, CCNA, CEH, Cloud+, CySA+, CISSP, or similar certification
  • Active Top Secret security clearance is required with the ability to obtain SCI
  • Experience supporting various telephone and voice switching systems (both non-secure and secure).
  • Ability to identify telecommunication security vulnerabilities and development of security mitigations for both analog and digital convergent telephone systems.
  • Has sufficient background to perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems
  • Expertise at performing analysis at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal
  • Has background of skills to ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints

Colorado Salary Minimum: $79,900
Colorado Salary Maximum: $193,800
