Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Function)
The senior property accountant, under moderate supervision, is responsible to unitize and retire assets in accordance with the capitalization policy; assure correct asset depreciation; adjust automated calculations with manual entries as necessary; and assist in responding to routine and special reporting.
Typical Duties
Perform unitization and asset retirement activities.
Calculate depreciation and Allowance for Funds Used During Construction (AFUDC) adjustments.
Assist in the preparation of FERC Form 2.
Assist in the preparation of Prepared by Client (BPC) audit schedules.
Assist in preparation of tax schedules.
Prepare billings and account reconciliation as needed.
Post Negative Salvage entry monthly.
Provide technical input to assist in development of project planning.
Perform any additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting.
MBA or CPA preferred.
Two or more years' experience in accounting, financial planning, finance, public accounting or other related experience.
Knowledge of accounting practice and FERC asset-related regulations.
Prior experience in project and property accounting.
Working knowledge of PowerPlant asset-related module preferred.
Ability to maintain focus amid rapidly changing demands and priorities.
Effective oral and written communication skills; effective interpersonal skills.
Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
