Outpatient Mental Health Therapist Job Description:

Under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor, the Outpatient Mental Health Therapist will be responsible for mental health and substance use counseling, case management and treatment planning for clients who have been referred to Maryhaven’s Opioid Treatment Program (OTP). The Outpatient Therapist will maintain a caseload of clients with dual diagnoses, receiving medication assisted treatment, while providing individual and group counseling services. They will complete assessments, screenings, and documentation in a timely manner while making referrals for assessed needs and appropriate level of care. The Outpatient Therapist will work with other clinicians and medical staff on the team to address client needs and promote treatment goals.

Outpatient Mental Health Therapist Requirements:
  • Master’s Degree in human service or behavioral science with one (1) year counseling experience in the field of chemical dependency treatment preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in human service or behavioral science with two (2) years’ experience in the field of chemical dependency treatment preferred
  • LPC, LSW, LISW or comparable license or certification with one (1) year of paid full-time experience in the field of chemical dependency or mental health treatment or equivalent required
