Staff Accountant Compensation:

Base Annual Salary Range: $55,000-$65,000, commensurate with skills and experience

Annual Bonus Potential: maximum 10% of annual base salary, prorated from date of hire and subject to terms and conditions

Staff Accountant Position Summary

The Staff Accountant will provide accounting support to the Finance & Risk Department and will have full responsibility for the Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R) processes and other general accounting tasks. They will assist with monthly and quarterly closing, annual audits of Financial Statements, and other finance/accounting related duties, including ad-hoc reporting.

Staff Accountant Responsibilities
  • End-to-end ownership of accounts payable, including but not limited to:
  • Reviews and processes incoming A/P invoices for approval and enters them into the accounting software
  • Prepares A/P check and ACH batches for payment of invoices
  • Monthly reconciliation of A/P accounts
  • Purchase Order management
  • End to end ownership of accounts receivable, including but not limited to:
  • Generating monthly billing report for review and approval
  • Accurate and timely creation and issuance of customer invoices
  • Monthly reconciliation of A/R accounts
  • Prepares bank deposits throughout the month
  • Resolve account payable and receivable issues or queries
  • Makes general journal entries within the accounting software
  • Processes and reconciles T&E
  • Assist in financial and tax audits, and general ledger preparation
  • Month end and quarterly close responsibilities including bank account and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assists Accounting, Finance & Risk Department as needed

  • The Staff Accountant will be required to work onsite for the first week of employment for equipment assignment and training. Additional onsite traing will be scheduled thereafter. Upon completion of the onsite training, the Staff Accountant will be permitted to work remotely, except for onsite required work-related meetings, training, or transaction processing.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business-related field of study or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 4 years accounting experience
  • Ability to read and analyze balance sheet, income and cash flow statements
  • Accounting knowledge with General Ledger experience
  • Great Plains accounting software experience a plus
  • Payroll processing experience a plus;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to key journal entries
  • Excellent writing and verbal communications and organizational skills and detail oriented
  • Demonstrates professionalism and confidence
  • Dependable, punctual and works well with other members of the organization
  • Ability to analyze information, problem solve, and report accurately
