DroneUp is seeking a Staff Accountant to handle all aspects of the accounts receivable function and to ensure that general ledger activity is accounted for accurately and timely in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and IRS rules and regulations. The position is key to ensuring accurate controls.

DroneUp is seeking a Staff Accountant to handle all aspects of the accounts receivable function and to ensure that general ledger activity is accounted for accurately and timely in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and IRS rules and regulations. The position is key to ensuring accurate controls.
Responsibilities
- Perform monthly cash account reconciliations and maintain the deferred revenue account
- Prepare and process sub-ledger, general ledger, and adjust journal entries in support of the month-end close process
- Create accurate weekly billing for customers, manage all A/R related accounts, and assess new customers for credit risk
- Maintain customer master data file in the accounting system including all W9 forms
- Oversee the collection of outstanding account receivables and manage company credit card usage, including reconciliations, approvals, entry into accounting system, and payments
- Maintain and submit all Walmart billing documents via indirect procurement to pay portal
- Apply receipts to customer accounts, research payment discrepancies, and communicate with customers regarding their account balances
- Calculate quarterly sales commission and prepare financial reports including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and other financial reports
- Provide support for the annual budget process and audit requirements and assist with required year-end tax compliance and state reporting
- Maintain proper storage of receipts and other documents by organizing, logging, scanning, and filing
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- Experience with Microsoft ERP preferred
- Google Sheets and MS Office experience required
- Experience with analysis and interpreting complex financial data and reports
- Adaptability and capability to change direction and participate as part of a project team
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage deadlines
- Must be detail-oriented, have solid organizational skills, have strong interpersonal skills, and demonstrated ability to follow-through
