Transportation Manager
at Class Produce Group LLC Maryland in Maryland (Published at 07-10-2022)
Description:
We have an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced Director of Transportation. The selected candidate will be responsible for the overall logistics, operations, and financial performance of CFC, a division of The Class Produce Group located in Jessup, Maryland. We are a fourth-generation, family-owned and operated leader in the produce industry and we are seeking a seasoned transportation professional who will make sure our goals for safety, customer service, and operational excellence are met. To be clear, this is not a move up position for a dispatcher, we are seeking a proven senior-level leader in the transportation (ideally Produce) industry. Our standards and expectations are high and we only invite the best, most qualified people to join our team. In exchange for this, we offer a highly competitive wage, an excellent benefits package including a 401K with a generous employer match as well as a great family work environment and rewarding career for the right person. We are looking for a proven leader who brings passion, energy, industry knowledge, and their best every day.
What You Will Do:
The Director will be responsible for leading and developing a team of transportation professionals to ensure our high standards of operational excellence and safety are met. They will be responsible for meeting or exceeding customer service expectations and developing and achieving operational, financial, and key performance initiatives. In addition to making sure the day-to-day expectations are met, they will also monitor key performance metrics and analyze operational variables and opportunities and implement solutions that positively impact the overall performance of CPG and CFC. The Director will be expected to develop and maintain a positive workplace culture, develop his/her people, and collaborate well with the executive team, as well as all departments to insure all customer service, safety, and financial objectives are realized.
A Bachelor's degree in Business, Transportation, Logistics, or Supply Chain is strongly preferred, however documentable background of exemplary Transportation Management/Leadership at a senior level may be substituted for the degree.
You should possess an overall familiarity with delivery trucking and transportation in the Eastern Seaboard region, especially from Maine to Florida.
