BID IMPLEMENTATION MANAGER Full-time

Description

KBX Logistics, LLC is searching for a talented individual to join the Procurement team. The core responsibilities of the role will include creating, overseeing, and managing complete bid lifecycles. The role will have internal and external customer interaction; identifying opportunities and devising effective strategies for successful bid outcomes. Bids will involve multiple different modes to include, but not be limited to: LTL, TL, open-equipment, inter-modal, bulk, air and ocean. The successful candidate will have a knowledge of the transportation industry; be results driven; and possess a high degree of analytical, organizational and time management skills.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand aspects to include, but not be limited to: special details regarding the facilities, operations, and requirements; current costing structures; crucial differentiators that may influence bid responses; key metrics which will be measured; and desired outcomes
  • Devise effective bid strategies with compressed time-lines which are designed to meet or exceed bid expectations
  • Be able to identify and communicate risks to the bid and/or timeline and make calculated decisions to resolve or mitigate such risks
  • Create the bid structures within the hosted bid application
  • Monitor and influence bid participation
  • Conduct negotiations
  • Create recommended outcomes which prevent leakage and ensure depth during the bid process by having secondary carrier options
  • Be able to create multiple scenario outcomes for consideration; with recommendations and impacts thereof
  • Provide consistent feedback to key stakeholders on milestones throughout the timeline, to include, but not be limited to: bid participation; initial results; negotiated results; potential concerns or risks, with recommendations for resolution or mitigation; and multiple scenario?s intended to achieving desired outcomes
  • Analyze and summarize results
  • Review and/or present final outcomes and recommendations to internal and external customers; thoroughly explaining the decision making process and financial (or other) impacts
  • Effectively communicate bid outcomes to participants; including awards
  • Support carrier on-boarding; involve the necessary parties to effectively contract according to the bid requirements, as well as supporting on-boarding calls with carriers and internal and external customers to ensure a smooth implementation
  • Facilitate implementation of rate loading and corresponding system work needed; such as generating an output from the bid tool which the rate specialists can load into the TMS
  • Serve as liaison with the carrier, procurement, operations and audit on pricing, contract, and invoicing issues
  • Manage initial leakage from bids
  • Cultivate carrier relationships
  • Support procurement functions such as rate adjustment impact analysis and the overall goals of the procurement department

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • Transportation experience (3+ years minimum)
  • History of conducting and/or being involved in the transportation bid process
  • Experience analyzing, interpreting, and communicating data to customers
  • Proficiency in Windows; Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams
  • Advanced Excel skills (E.g.: if/then; vlookups; reference formulas)
