Overview: **This is a hybrid position and offers the opportunity to work 50% of time remotely and 50% of time in the office.
Administer all sales, service, and product-related programs within the CMIC Specialty Services agency. Foster existing market relationships as well as identify and develop new markets, manage the sales and service needs of the homeowners book of business, and achieve annual goals of the agency. Responsible for hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, salary administration, etc., and coach and mentor to enhance knowledge and growth of staff. Develop metrics and report on overall goal results to management. Responsibilities: I. Administer all sales, service, and product-related programs within the CMIC Specialty Services agency. II. Foster existing market relationships as well as identify and develop new markets to meet the needs of Church Mutual, manage the sales and service needs of the Church Mutual homeowners book of business, and achieve annual goals of the agency. Determine coverage gaps and limitations within Church Mutual products and establish outside products to meet that need. III. Act as the agent for placing all coverages for CM Group, including property, liability, workers' compensation, professional liability, and commercial automobile. IV. Collaborate with sales and underwriting management to develop and foster a strong working relationship to meet customer needs and attain corporate goals. Provide supervisor with ongoing communications regarding unit results and activities. V. Responsible for hiring, performance reviews, development and other personnel actions, including salary administration and adherence to company policy for unit. Coach staff in setting and attaining professional development goals. Act as a role model and resource within the unit, sharing knowledge, mentoring and training others, and resolving issues/concerns. VI. Regularly meet with brokers, carriers, and Church Mutual field personnel and present quarterly to the CMIC Specialty Services board of directors. VII. Develop metrics for all aspects of the operation. Evaluate and refine workflows, processes, and procedures. VIII. Keep current on products and services in the property and casualty industry. Enhance job knowledge and leadership through review of published materials, seminars and conferences, and participating in professional organizations. Share knowledge gained with peers. IX. Must be able to obtain and maintain insurance licenses as required by law. X. Automobile and air travel with some overnight stays. Qualifications: 1. Prior Experience:
  • Five years of relevant insurance industry experience with evidence of management or leadership responsibility.
  • Sales experience helpful.

2. Education:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • CPCU or other professional insurance designation desired.

3. Necessary Knowledge and Abilities:
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of property and casualty insurance products.
  • Ability to negotiate pricing and commission levels.
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels within and outside the organization.
  • Demonstrated skills in relationship building, decision making, negotiations, and communication to include organizational skills, problem solving, business acumen, and the ability to influence others.
  • Demonstrated leadership, including ability to mentor, coach, and manage goal achievement and strategic thinking behaviors.
  • Proficient computer skills, working with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to learn agency accounting and errors and omissions procedures.
  • Ability to travel as necessary.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain insurance licenses as required by law.
  • Evidence of an ability and willingness to work in an environment of constant product and market changes.
  • Ability to learn to efficiently utilize the Agency Management System (database).

4. Necessary On the Job Training and Orientation: Six months; by the end of this time period, the employee must be able to function with minimum supervision; however, up to one year may be required before all aspects of the job are encountered.
