The Payroll Coordinator functions within a team to support the paying of employees, resolve discrepancies, provide payroll information, and prepare reports. (NOTE: Previous payroll experience is REQUIRED. Position is 100% remote, open to qualified candidates anywhere in the U.S., but candidates must be flexible on hours, particularly on payroll processing days.)
Essential Job Functions-Description:
Demonstrated experience with a payroll processing application, HRIS system or HCM system.
Demonstrated experience preparing statements and reports based on payroll records
Demonstrated experience with attention to detail, written and oral communication, multi-tasking, and working in a team atmosphere adhering to strict deadlines
Demonstrated experience with MS Office software products
Minimum Education Preferred

Essential Job Functions-Description:
- Performs Payroll Activities that include:
- Ensuring accuracy of direct deposit information, comparing what the employee have entered to their uploaded bank information.
- Collecting and validating ad-hoc data for input to the payroll applications.
- Performing regular processing of payroll activities; audit inputs and maintains payroll to ensure processing is completed within required time frame.
- Supporting payroll team members with new hires, W-4s and deductions.
- Supporting payroll team members with terminations and transfers
- Supporting payroll process by coordinating data collection, updates, calculations, and data entry.
- Resolving payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
- Answering questions and requests regarding payroll information.
- Maintains payroll operations by following policies/procedures and reporting needed changes.
- Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential
- Develops, reviews and updates payroll documentation including user procedures, guidelines and other documentation for their areas for which they are responsible
- Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Contributes to a positive work environment by demonstrating cultural expectations and influencing others to reward performance and value can do people, accountability, diversity and inclusion, flexibility, continuous improvement, collaboration, creativity and fun.

- Performs other duties as assigned.
- 1+ years of related experience.
- Payroll experience required
- Solid knowledge and understanding of accounting principles related to classifying, recording, and summarizing data and making computations to compile and keep financial records.
- Ability to calculate payroll liabilities by calculating employee Federal and State income withholding, employee and employer Social Security taxes, unemployment and workers compensation payments.
