Electrical and Automation Engineer

Key Responsibilities
Creation of P&IDs and instrumentation/control equipment for industrial applications.
Design and testing & troubleshooting of controls, including panels, PLC logic & HMI programming preferably in Siemens/AB
Validate, optimizes, and instruct a knowledge of the control methods, analog and discrete and the critical components to developing sustainable control algorithms.
Execution of control methodology in DCS, PLC or HMI platforms with an understanding of various programming languages.
Ability to enhance the design and implement knowledge of control system architecture including hardware, software, instrumentation & networking equipment.
Demonstrates abilities in loop checking, startup, troubleshooting, and commissioning support in an industrial environment.
Ability to understand control philosophy and write functional requirement specifications based on functionality including description of control loops, interlocks, and alarms.
Demonstrates knowledge of 120 VAC control circuits inside electric motor starters and able to read motor schematics and electrical one-line diagrams.
Production of detailed electrical schematics and panel layout drawings with bill of material.
FAT - Panel & Logic check-out in the shop before shipment.
Key RequirementsUnderstanding of automation process in Food/Pharma/FMCG/Chemical industry
Working knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical.
Working knowledge with various PLC programming software.
Documented experience writing PLC logic, HMI programming and Communication Protocol (Modbus, RS485, Profinet, HART).
Electrical design ? one-line diagrams, Power cable sizing, cable schedules power distribution systems, low voltage system layout, conduit fill, medium & High voltage distribution design.
Electrical Studies ? Fault Current, Overcurrent Coordination, Arc Flash · Instrumentation ? selection, specification, commissioning ·
Control Systems ? Custom Control system design, control panel design, IO list creation.
Equipment Checkout and Startup ? field verify electrical installations prior to startup, perform startup activities
Familiar with applicable NEC, IEEE/ANSI, UL, and CSA standards
Experience in Electrical equipment sizing and selection: MV and LV switchgear, pad mount transformer, Transformer -GSUT, panel boards, breakers, protective relays, disconnect switches, surge arrestors, dead front disconnect switch, medium voltage cable, low voltage cable, control cable, fiber optic cable
Complex engineering calculations such as: load flow, short circuit, and reactive capability analysis (ETAP or SKM), Arc flash analysis (ETAP or SKM), grounding analysis
Typically requires a minimum of 3 to 5 years of related experience.
Bachelor of Electrical Engineering
