Job Description:

Currently, we are seeking an experienced AWS Admin in Washington, D.C. The selected candidate must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a Public Trust Suitability clearance, per contract requirements.

You will be part of a team who will assist businesses to plan and execute their migrations, operations and enhancements in the cloud. Acts as the customer relationship manager and advocate. This group is responsible for understanding and communicating the cost implications of decisions and technology selection for IT and the businesses, establishing, tracking, and reporting cloud budgets, costs, and variances, and recommending actions to provide the greatest value at the least cost. Works cohesively with businesses, Business Enablement / Service Delivery and Architecture & Standards to ensure cloud cost management. In this role, the candidate should have a strong experience with AWS services and technologies, applications, servers, network security, and hands-on automation experience. They should also have experience provisioning, configuring and maintaining Linux/Unix operating systems. We are looking for a highly motivated professional who embraces the DevOps/SecOps culture and is a self-starter who can deliver AWS services with minimal guidance.

  • Hands on experience building and deploying solutions in the AWS Cloud.
  • Work with a team of Engineers to architect AWS solutions with the responsibility to ensure the customer maintains an overall cohesive integration with itself, partner systems, and solutions.
  • Participate on agile DevOps and agile SecOps teams using AWS Cloud technologies and tools to achieve a high level of performance and quality in delivering projects that provide exceptional business value to the customer.
  • Establish and maintain a cooperative, working relationships with a diverse group of staff members, stakeholders, and customers.


The AWS Cloud Admin is responsible for the following tasks:

  • Engage with other teams to ensure customer requests are fulfilled.
  • Develop operational guides for customers
  • Communicate with customer base on issues of importance including changes, outages, and process changes.
  • Perform customer onboarding activities for customers.
  • Develop and deliver cost reports for customers.
  • Track and adjust the customer's use of AWS Cloud resource limits and quotas.
  • Create, configure, troubleshoot and maintain cloud infrastructure.
  • Provision, configure, and maintain database and application software on linux servers.

Key Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizen
  • Public Trust clearance or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate certification
  • 3+ years' AWS experience in a solutions delivery role.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills, strong interpersonal skills, and demonstrated experience working with senior level stakeholders and development teams
  • Competent communication skills, both orally and in writing to convey complex technical concepts to less technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
  • Must be able to work in a matrixed organization
  • Knowledge, skills and abilities of the architecture, engineering, and services of Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Knowledge, skills and abilities to troubleshoot and resolve problems and issues in Amazon Web Services.
  • Communicate with designated personnel by phone and email concerning the details of the issue, expected resolution, and root cause analysis.
  • Have the ability to research problems and contact and escalate issues with AWS or other third-party hardware/software providers.
  • Experience with the native AWS management and governance tools.
  • Knowledge, skills, and ability to customize cost reports based on AWS billing information, account structures, and tags.
  • Skill in working with customers to understand their requirements and deliver superior solutions.


  • 3+ years' AWS experience in a solutions delivery role
  • 3+ years' experience working within an environment utilizing AWS services, solutions, and provisioning/automating AWS infrastructure, services and tools.
  • Experience with containers/Docker/Kubernetes (and/or EKS).
