Merz Therapeutics is looking for an Associate Director Marketing Strategy to map out our new growth opportunities. This is an excellent opportunity with an established company that continues to grow in sales. This position is primarily strategic (80%) and focused on accelerating the growth of our products in the US.

This role also includes oversight and delivery of Payer Marketing (20%)

Job Purpose Statement

This position will report directly to the VP of US Marketing, Merz Therapeutics. This role has two core responsibilities:

  • Is the ?strategic hat? in the team, mapping out growth opportunities to which our field and marketing resources will be directed
  • Oversight and delivery of the Payer Marketing function and responsible for supporting our Payer field team in optimizing appropriate patient access to our product portfolio.

Consequently, the incumbent is expected to be actively engaged on brand strategies, market and competitive analysis, financial plans and remain abreast of key market trends and unmet customer needs for responsive payer customer marketing plans and identification of sales growth strategies.

It is a critical role in developing customer marketing strategic and tactical plan to accelerate growth. This is a highly visible leadership role within Merz that will require the incumbent to work collaboratively with virtually all levels of and functions in Merz Therapeutics to achieve common goals. Therefore, the Associate Director Marketing Strategy must demonstrate effective interpersonal and collaboration skills to engage with Payer team, field sales team, Brand Marketing, Commercial Analysis, R&D, Medical Affairs, Legal, Regulatory, Compliance, Commercial Operations, Pricing & Contracting, Trade, Account Management, and Training. As part of the US Marketing team this person will seamlessly coordinate with HCP Marketing and Patient Marketing to achieve consistent brand strategies and tactical plans.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The position is primarily responsible for delivering sales growth mapping identifying different sources of potential growth and plan to roll them out to the appropriate teams. It will also participate in building business cases as appropriate and partner with Global in assessing and project-managing new indications.

This position will also be responsible for the oversight and delivery of the Payer Marketing function and responsible for supporting our Payer field team in optimizing appropriate patient access to our product portfolio

Upstream


Working closely with the analytics, sales and payer teams to identify market drivers and opportunities of growth, model them and support roll out, monitoring. Typical activities will include:

  • Strategic insight building: Partner with business analytics, sales, medical and market access and external KOLs among others to gather market, competitor and disease drivers and insights
  • Work cross-functionally with global to align on key aspects of new indications as needed
  • Support Payer strategies in concert with developing and implementing a tactical plan for customers across payer channels and reimbursement models.

Work closely with all involved stakeholders to gather all relevant insights and data to identify growth opportunities and articulate them into an actionable plan

Downstream


Prepare, roll-out and maintain resources for local market selling and access pull-through that maximize the return on market access investments. Typical activities will include:

  • Collaborating with Account Management and Sales / Marketing functions to develop and lead access pull-through initiatives, including design and implementation of key field access tools and resources.
  • Working closely with training to conduct periodic sales force training on all facets of U.S. Managed Markets.
  • Developing and leveraging field-level data tools and analytics that drive fact-based, marketing strategies.

Prepare and keep updated a prioritized list of growth opportunities, their implementation plan and constantly monitor execution effectiveness and propose any course correction
