Job Purpose: Our next Treatment Foster Care Specialist - Western Region will contribute to the mission and vision of the agency by licensing Treatment Foster Homes as well as placing and servicing youth residing within their designated service area (Barron, Polk, Washburn, and Burnett Counties.). This position will work on licensing initial families and relicensing TFC families. They will also assist foster families on the principles of TBRI and the Neurosequential model of therapeutics. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining each child?s treatment plan in collaboration with the child?s respective treatment team.

Duties:
- Effectively manages all aspects of the foster care placement including, but not limited to:
- Maintaining current knowledge of foster parent availability through regular review of placement openings
- Communicating comprehensive and accurate referral information to foster parents
- Facilitating communication between referral source and foster parent
- Assessing and responding to purchaser expectations
- Coordinating pre-placement visits
- Supporting / Coordinating appropriate service needs utilizing NM, Seven Essential Ingredients and TBRI.
- Performs all initial licensing, monitoring, and re-licensing functions for all assigned foster homes to ensure timely movement of applicants through training, and licensure as well as ongoing compliance with licensing standards.
- Conducts all licensing and placement activities in accordance with DCF 56, DCF 54, State Statutes 48, Federal Law (MEPA), COA Standards and agency policies and accreditation standards.
- Participates in agency recruitment and retention efforts in collaboration with the TFC team. Added

- Implements regional treatment foster care recruitment plan, utilizing media, ads, public speaking, etc. as demonstrated by achieving annual foster home licensing goal. Delete
- Develops and maintains extensive community contacts for the purpose of foster family recruitment and program public relations Delete
- Provides accurate, professional, timely documentation of foster home recruitment efforts, foster home licensing activities, client treatment goals and meetings in case notes, monthly summaries, discharge summaries, and other paperwork.
- Consistently maintains client and foster home files in accordance with program policies.
- Bachelor?s degree in Social Work or equivalent human services degree required; Master?s degree in Social Work or equivalent human services degree preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years? experience working with children and families in social services/foster care required; experience working in treatment foster case management and licensing preferred; experience in Family, group and individual therapy and Crisis intervention preferred.
- Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to take initiative and act quickly and independently when the situation demands it; sees a need and takes appropriate action without being prompted or reminded; demonstrates ability to effectively deal with crisis situations.
- Ability to exhibit professionalism while working effectively and harmoniously with staff, program participants, social service agencies, legal parties, and the public.
- Demonstrate an ability to effective understanding and practice of cultural humility and ability work and communicate respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Part time, 20 hours per week
- Regular travel in personal vehicles is required with the ability to move intermittently throughout the workday.
- Travel to foster homes in the Western region of Wisconsin as well as infrequent travel to the main office in Milwaukee is required.
- Interaction with personnel, clients, family members, visitors, volunteers, interns, and vendors under all conditions and circumstances.
- Fast paced, flexible work schedule includes evenings and some weekends to accommodate program needs.
