S.C. Swiderski is hiring for a Civil Engineering Technician for our growing Business Development division! Are you detail orientated, technically trained in civil engineering basics, and great at meeting deadlines? We want you!

This position has been created to provide technical support for real estate development projects, assist in project planning, and coordinate work by outside vendors.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in site research, site layout, utility and street planning and schematic design for real estate development projects.
• Coordinate site and environmental evaluations and geotechnical testing.
• Assist with RFP process for outsourced engineering, surveys, and stormwater planning.
• Monitor communication and document timelines, deliverables, and expenses for contracted work.
• Review consultant reports and deliverables, projects plans and documents for accuracy and adherence to SCS standards.
• Prepare reports, review data, information, and plans to make recommendations.
• Create technical drawings by utilizing design software.
• Conduct periodic inspections of construction sites and assist with resolving technical and engineering questions and issues.
• Report identified survey problems or concerns to development team.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED:

• Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related field
• Thorough attention to detail
• Consistent time management in meeting deadlines
• Ability to read development, design, and engineering documents
• Experience with AutoCAD or similar software

PREFERRED:

• Strong initiative and ownership skills
• Strong mechanical and mathematical aptitude
• Strong critical-thinking and technical skills
• 1-2 years of civil field experience

Hours & Compensation:

• Normal business hours Monday-Friday 8a-5p
• Pay based on experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
