Ink Technician Plate Mounter is on a 12 hour shift, 2, 2, 3, rotation. Night shift earns a shift differential of $2.00/hr and weekend differential of $1.50/hr for Saturdays and Sundays in addition to base hourly rate. $1,500 signing bonus payable at 6- and 12- months of continuous employment.

We are hiring for 2 positions, 1 on day shift and 1 on night shift.

Summary

The Ink Technician / Plate Mounter is primarily responsible to purchase, stage, and return inks, control inventory and conduct monthly inventory counts of the ink room. Two of the main focal areas are to reduce press operator down time due to color matching and control costs in the ink room.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem from time to time.

• Read and understand the communication book, in order to plan the work shift according to the operators? instructions.
• Stage ink for print jobs
• Read and understand the print dockets
• Understanding of the ink computer for mixing PMS colors
• Understanding of DNR requirements
• Ability to do ink draw downs
• Control and reduce ink inventory

• Use of production reporting system to ensure accuracy of data and labels.
• Receive and properly store and maintain cleanliness of plates
• Evaluate quality of image on the plate.
• Keep accurate records of time and materials used for each job.
• Notify supervisor of need for replacement plates for damaged or worn plates.
• Complies with established facility safety policies and procedures and other regulations (IE: GMP, HAACP, SQF) as applicable.
• 5S and housekeeping
• Participate in continuous improvement projects.
• Expand knowledge on print lines (and other equipment) through experience.
• Be able to operate in a team environment through proper communication and assisting each other during all steps of operation.

• Maintain all equipment, as required
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and /or Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• One to three months related experience and/or training.
• Experience working inks or plates in a flexographic printing operation are a plus
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Mathematical ability necessary.
• Ability to work various shifts.
• Basic computer skills required.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. Employees are required to wear hearing protection, safety glasses, and safety shoes.

Employee is working in an environment of fast moving equipment.
