Assistant Security Account Manager MSUBI Account Full-time

The Assistant Account Manager is responsible for assisting the Account Manager in the safety and security of all employees and visitors to the Mercedes Benz US International facilities. They will supervise, professionally develop, motivate, and assess the Allied Universal Security team on a consistent basis. This Manager will ensure all shift supervisors are adequately trained to fulfill their own responsibilities and will routinely measure their performance against the expectations of AUS and the customer. This Manager will act as the primary contact for the selection, hiring, scheduling and discipline of the physical security force, assigning tasks and providing updates to all stakeholders. This Manager will ensure all AUS personnel are trained and properly credentialed before being assigned to a designated shift. This Manager will support the AM, and fill in when assistance is necessary due to the absence of the AM. This Manager will support the AM and assist in special projects and allocate labor resources as necessary to support ongoing needs for MBUSI.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Those duties necessary to meet the minimum requirements of the position. Other duties may be assigned:

  • General Operations management; assist in the review of post orders and make recommendations to the AM and/or MBUSI customer when updates should be considered; review daily log reports and provides pass downs as required; responsible for officers meeting MBUSI and AUS company standards pertaining to quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, performing all work related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all company policies and procedures including worldwide business standards; ensure the security team receives required training on a consistent basis; assist the AM in the implementation of security programs; ensure physical security measures and practices are enforced and to see that all client directives are carried out continuously
  • General Human Resources management: participate in selection and placement, conduct performance reviews, manage attendance, and conflict resolution; scheduling as required. Assist the AM with creating and instituting call-off resolution as needed.
  • Provide monthly data to the AM for reporting to MBUSI and AUS leadership detailing all pertinent activities that have occurred in the previous month concerning any security and safety issues.
  • Administer or assist in administering the AUS Safety Program; MBUSI safety guidelines; assist the AM in the annual review and revision the security Emergency Response plan; monitor compliance with regulatory and fire prevention requirements and safety items
  • Selection of supervisory candidates and selection of personnel to assume increased responsibility
  • Scheduling of the work force and the implementation of methods for the reduction of overtime, thus ensuring proper support for MBUSI and eliminating workforce fatigue.
  • Assist as needed, the Training and Compliance Manager to ensure that cross-training of the workforce occurs to make them more versatile, administering the HPE process, on-boarding of personnel (JSA, OJT, Safety Orientation facilitation).
  • Assist with the tracking and maintaining of training records of all training, OJT, JSA, Safety Orientation CPR and other deliverables as required.
  • Make recommendations with regard to disciplinary action/commendation decisions pertaining to security personnel
  • Recommend and assist the AM regarding changes to physical security surveys and post orders
  • Manage and maintain the vehicle fleet and equipment assigned to MBUSI for operational excellence.
  • Other administrative and operational duties as assigned by account and/or branch leadership

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to pass any State-required training or other qualifications for licensing
  • Must be able to pass a state licensing test if driving a company-owned or client-provided vehicle
Type and Length of Specific Experience Required:
  • Must possess a minimum of three (3) years of work experience showing aptitude for assisting in the operational management of a large semi-independent business enterprise
  • Work history to include each of the following:
  • Supervising emergency preparedness and response procedures
  • Implementing corporate security directives, building community partnerships with local law enforcement and emergency response agencies, implementing security programs, managing security personnel, conducting risk assessments, enforcing physical security measures and practices to ensure the client directives are carried out on an ongoing basis
  • Leading a diverse team of security personnel
  • Proven ability to make decisions without management present based upon security operational guidelines

OTHER RELATED ATTRIBUTES THAT WOULD ENHANCE HIRING CONSIDERATION: These are other criteria that may enhance the hiring decision but would not rule out the candidate for consideration if not present.

  • College degree in Business Administration or a law enforcement-related field
  • American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS) International Certified Protection Professional (CPP) certification
  • Law enforcement experience (military police or civilian law enforcement)
  • Military experience with a favorable discharge
  • Graduate of certified public safety academy (e.g., Law Enforcement, Firefighter/Paramedic, Corrections Officer)


  • Office environment with minimal to no exposure to extreme temperatures is expected.
  • Major activities include working on PC while sitting. Telephone use
  • Physical effort is limited, to include some standing, bending, light lifting, and limited stretching and reaching
  • Must be able to submit to drug screening to the extent permissible by law
