SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Pultrusion Operator works as part of a team performing various tasks in the production area of pultrusion and MAT areas of pultursion. These tasks may vary based on the daily needs in the pultrusion area and MAT areas. Other duties may be assigned by the department manager as needed.

Pay: $18.15 per hour

3rd Shift

· Pass drug screen

· Pass pre-work ability screen

ENVIRONMENT:

· Noise levels require hearing protection in designated areas

· Safety glasses are required along with needed personal protective equipment

· Seasonal high temperatures and humidity

· Moderate to fast-paced work

· Requires frequent handling of glass and other product materials

· Will have frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts

· Will require the handling of fiberglass materials, resin composite, and clean-up solvents such as:

Styrene

Alcohol

Norox 802-75P

Techlube

Accrastrip

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Responsible for the Haz Mat area to assure compliance with federal and state

regulations as it relates to proper storage and disposal of hazardous materials.

· Mix resin and deliver it to the machines

· Cut mats and deliver to machines

· Performs TPM on resin room

· Performs TPM on the mat cutter

· Reports the yield and scrap of cut material to the department manager

· Delivers doffs to creel

· Maintains the creel and ties in doffs as needed

· Delivers all operating supplies to the machines such as gloves, towels, acetone, etc. for the operator to remain in the work area

· Change out resin bucket

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Aid and assist pultrusion operators in their daily job functions as needed

· Relief operator

· Understanding of the pultrusion process

· Assist in troubleshooting and problem resolution

· Other duties as assigned by the department manager

· General knowledge of PLC control

SKILLS AND TALENTS:

· Basic Computer skills

· Ability to assemble and dismantle machinery and tools

· Must be able to read and follow line schedules

· Organizational skills

· Accuracy and attention to detail

· Able to work with minimal supervision

· Working knowledge of basic math

· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions

· Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations

· Knowledge and use of hand tools

· Ability to read dial calipers, micrometers, surface meters, scales, and other measuring equipment

· General knowledge of PLC controls (Programmable Logic Controllers). Does not include programming.

· Problem-solving and communicating ideas

· Ability to lead by example

· Ability to maintain a level of patience and self-control under difficult times

· Adaptability

· Use of measurement devices and follows SOP procedures

· Follows all safety policies and procedures

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Lift to 60 lbs. at waist level and up to 30 lbs. at shoulder level up to an occasional basis when moving products

· Push or pull with up to 70 lbs. of force up to an occasional basis when moving products

· Generate up to 65 lbs. of grip strength up to an occasional basis with each hand while handling products

· Generate up to 15 lbs. of pinch strength up to an occasional basis with each hand while handling products

· Display average coordination with both hands up to a continuous basis while performing job tasks

· Perform elevated work up to an occasional basis when handling products

· Stoop, kneel, or squat up to an occasional basis when handling products

· Reach forward and to the side up frequently when handling products

· Stand up continuously and walk-up frequently during each shift
