Position Summary
This role is responsible for understanding and supporting the needs of incoming students who will be completing the Initial Certificate in Russian. The Russian Immersion Navigator will be the primary mentor and guide for students as they begin their early childhood education course work in Russian.
Pay, Benefits & Work Schedule
Pay rate: $16/hr.
The successful candidate is expected to work 5 hours per week . This position typically assigned as needed on a quarterly basis, with no expectation of continued employment beyond the current appointment.
The temporary hourly employment does not exceed 1,050 hours in any 12 consecutive month period from the original date of hire. Temporary hourly employees who work more than three hundred fifty (350) hours in a twelve consecutive month period may be subject to provisions of one the collective bargaining agreements covering Classified employees at Bellevue College.
This position is expected to NOT be eligible for benefits because eligibility is limited only to employees working at least an average of 80 hours in eligible employment for more than 6 consecutive months and at least 8 hours a month.

About the Department
The Early Learning and Teacher Education (ELTE) program provides students with high quality, academically rigorous courses that prepare graduates to become successful early childhood professionals. The program emphasizes practical job skills for working with young children and families, based on current learning theories and brain research, and works collaboratively with the early childhood community to develop partnerships for student lab experiences. Essential Functions
Assist students in the Russian Immersion cohort with college applications, grant and/or workforce application and paperwork.
Host onboarding and orientation sessions about technology use, canvas, and college ready skills (tutoring, study-work-family, and self-advocacy).
Monitor and report student progress when they begin course work.
Other duties as assigned by the Early Achievers Responsive Pathways Point of Contact.
Minimum Qualifications
Fluent in Russian
Experience working in an early childhood education program
Certificate of Completion in the Initial Early Childhood Education common courses (20 credits)
