Research Technologist II Full-time

In the role of Research Technologist II working in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Our Research Technologist II will under general direction carry out experimental design for sponsored research projects, including compilation and analysis of data generated. Experience with sterile surgical procedures in rodents is required. Experience with molecular and physiologic techniques such as cell culture, PCR, and Western blots is preferred. Candidate will be encouraged to work independently on research projects following necessary training period.


Responsibilities
:

  • Carry out routine and complex experiments.
  • Monitor inventory and order lab supplies; carry out assigned duties for ordering, maintaining supply of inventory.
  • Prepare media and maintain cells by various culturing in techniques.
  • Participate in meetings with principal investigator and research staff and evaluate/interpret the validity of data as needed.
  • Oversee daily lab operation in the absence of the supervisor or Principle Investigator.
  • Assist in development and implementation of research protocols.
  • Record and compile accurate records and communicate summaries of experimental results.
  • Sample collection, transport, and processing associated with the MCW surgical oncology tissue bank.
  • Operate, calibrate and perform routine maintenance on specialized equipment used in research.

Knowledge of biology, chemistry, mathematics, documentation, and records management.

Data utilization, complex problem solving, critical thinking, resource management, and writing skills.

730a-430p; flexible

Minimum Qualifications:

Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis


Minimum Required Education: Bachelor?s degree

Minimum Required Experience: 1 year
