Retail Shop Assistant Manager Full-time

Title: Town & Ranch ? Retail Shop and Tasting Room Assistant Manager

Reports to: New Store Opening Manager

Position Type: Full time, Exempt

Job Summary:

Provide leadership, management, and supervision primarily to the Town & Ranch location in partnership with the New Store Opening Manager. Provides support in all critical business decisions including team member hiring, development, and terminations. Assists in store processes and special projects, as assigned ? including but not limited to profitability, expense control, visual merchandising and store standards, regulatory compliance, etc.

Duties & Responsibilities:

· Act as an ambassador and representative for the Town & Ranch location as well as Los Poblanos in general.

· Maintain a strong floor presence to assist in customer service as well as to provide a lead by example management style.

· Create and maintain strong relationships with the New Store Opening Manager, Director of Sales, Director of Wine & Spirits, and all Los Poblanos retail outlet managers.

· Manage inventory to achieve targeted gross profit margin.

· Support store standards through maintenance of product cleanliness, stock levels, and overall presentation.

· Create and maintain a culture of outstanding customer service and enlightened hospitality.

· Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all relevant regulatory rules and standards.

· Possess a strong understanding of retail systems, including but not limited to Shopify, Yellow Dog, Resort Suite, etc.

· Assist in the interview, selection, training, development, and counseling of team members in a manner that builds and sustains a high performing team and minimizes turn over.

· Provide accurate, complete information in all daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and ?ad hoc? management reports.

· Establish and maintain a collaborative working relationship with Los Poblanos ownership, all department managers, and all team members.

· Establish and maintain a positive work environment.

· Consistently communicate and model Los Poblanos vision, mission, core values and goals.

· Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

· This role is based at the Town & Ranch location but will flex to other Los Poblanos retail locations to support the overall needs of the business.

Essential Job Functions:

· Manage daily sales as well as marketing and customer service activities as needed.

· Assist in merchandising execution.

· Study product information to acquire professional knowledge.

· Collaborate with other LP teams to develop business and market strategies.

· Monitor inventories of products or materials.

· Resolve customer complaints or problems.

· Responsible accountability for tasting room spaces and staff.

· Ensure that POS systems are up to date with current inventory

· Floor presence on sales floor of both retail and tasting room spaces.

· Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations

· Submit weekly liquor orders by Tuesday of each week to Director of Wine & Spirits based on par levels

· Collaborate with the LP team on new initiatives and store events

· Responsible for financial wellness of Town & Ranch business and providing any information that is requested.

· Uphold operational policies.


· Passionate about hospitality, good craftsmanship and New Mexico.

· Affinity for Los Poblanos products, with a specific love for lavender products, gourmet foods, kitchen, and tabletop accessories.

· Minimum of two years retail management experience.

· Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.

· Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to coach, train, and mentor.

· Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities.

· Must be able sit, stand, bend, squat, reach and walk 8 to 10 hours a day.

· Able to grasp, lift, carry. Must be able to lift to 50 lbs. in short intervals throughout the day.

· Must be willing and have the ability to work a varied schedule to include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

· Must be willing to travel to various retail locations to support the needs of the business.


· Interest in organic farming, agriculture, art, and architecture is a plus.
