(Not required; provides additional context specific to the individual job in the family) Traffic Distribution Operators are responsible for moving boxes of materials and supplies between buildings and floors and assisting employees in assigned areas with packages and other supply and material handling needs. Ensures storeroom shelves are stocked and orderly. Provides courier services within Dane County on an as needed basis. Sorts and distributes mail and packages to all locations; uses the internal tracking system to update the status of packages. Assists truck drivers with loading and unloading on an as needed basis.

Primary Accountabilities
- Requires working knowledge and skills developed through formal training or work experience.
- Identifies the problems and all relevant issues in straightforward situations, assesses each using standard procedures, and makes sound decisions.
- Works within established procedures with a moderate degree of supervision.
- Handles materials to ensure they reach the correct destination which may include sorting, tracking, delivering, organizing and carrying.
- Aid mail services by distributing mail internally and between Dane county locations.
- Monitors office supply inventory and orders more to serve headquarter needs.
- Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service
- Can be relied upon to meet schedules and deadlines.
- Demonstrated experience in an administrative support or customer service role.
- Knowledge and demonstrated proficiency in various PC software applications (e.g. Microsoft Office Suites, Internet Explorer, Outlook, Acrobat).
- Valid driver's license required plus an acceptable driving record.
- This position requires the ability to work with close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less) for extended periods of time.
- This position requires hand and finger dexterity between 66 and 100% of the time.
- This position requires the ability to reach with hands and arms between 66 and 100% of the time.
- This position requires the ability to stand between 66 and 100% of the time.
- This position requires the ability to stand, walk and/or sit between 66 and 100% of the time.
- This position requires the ability to talk between 66 and 100% of the time.
- This position requires the ability to walk between 66 and 100% of the time.
- This position requires the ability to lift up to 100 pounds between 1 and 33% of the time.
