Automation/Controls Engineer

Responsibilities
This position is with a leading Metals Manufacturing company, employing industrial automation and methodology to improve effectiveness of manufacturing production and processes. As part of an Automation Team, you will be involved with design, development, programming, installation, and implementation of Automated Systems. These will include robotics, PLC controls, material handling, and system monitoring.
Requires the ability to work in a team setting with a variety of engineers, technicians, managers, machinists and machine operators of varying levels of experience and expertise.
Qualifications
Engineering degree or proven industrial experience
Experience in an Automation/Controls Engineer position in a Manufacturing environment
Desired:
- Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Programming experience and HMI interface programming, preferably with Allen Bradley-Rockwell hardware and software
- Familiarity with programming and installation of FANUC robotic and vision systems
- Ability to design, develop and wire electrical panels and/or system sensors necessary to control automated systems
- CAD Experience
- Knowledge of basic hydraulic and pneumatic concepts
- Ability to create, troubleshoot and edit CNC machine Ladder Logic Programs
- Ability to interface PLC systems with CNC machines using various protocols
- Ability to read schematic electrical prints and mechanical prints
Ability to communicate clearly and accept direction in all phases of a project
Expected to complete assignments in a timely manner
Must have own hand tools or be willing to purchase those necessary tools
Requires overnight travel to outlying HyPro production facilities to install automated systems (10%-30% annually)
