Job Summary:
Under direct supervision of the Telecom Supervisor, this position has primary responsibility for the daily maintenance of the security systems, to include video cameras, door access controls, and infant abduction systems.. Other responsibilities would include the installation and maintenance of third party software packages, application of updates to the system, and monitoring/maintenance of the hardware platform and network. This position is also required to work closely with other areas within Information Services in planning initiatives, monitoring and problem resolution. This position requires interaction with both internal and external contacts in the analysis, design and implementation stages of a project. This person also works directly with both Hospital and vendor personnel. Other duties involve maintaining, repairing, and installing telephone equipment. Pulls cable for phones, computers, doctors dictating, and related equipment. Terminates cable to terminal blocks, installs connectors on cables, and locates existing cable. Inspects and trouble shoots problems with cable and equipment. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with the patients, families, visitors, and other FGH personnel by exhibiting the Forrest General Way.

- Demonstrate the ability to install security related equipment
- Demonstrate the ability to ensure equiupment is at proper maintenance levels
- Demonstrate the ability to work with Public Safety closely on all new implementations
Education/Skills:
Bachelor's degree highly desired, two year degree required in electronics, data processing, computer science or related field. May substitute equivalent work related experience for formal education.
Work Experience:
At least three years of progressive experience involving maintenance of software packages.
Certification/Licensure:
None required. Security Systems related certification highly desired.
Mental Demands:
Ability to solve problems logically, present facts orally and in writing. Must possess the ability to make logical decisions in a timely manner when on call. Also must have ability to perform repetitive tasks, cooperate with others, take orders and follow directions, demonstrate initiative.
