St. John Regional Catholic School, located in Frederick, Maryland seeks a dynamic educator to join the leadership team. This National Blue Ribbon School (2019), with a current student population of over 600 (pre-k-Grade 8), creates a vibrant 21st-century learning environment that infuses Catholic identity into every aspect of a curriculum focused on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) integration across the disciplines.

The Assistant Principal, a member of the School Leadership team assists the Principal with all day-to-day operations of the school. Overseeing that instruction is consistent with the mission, philosophy, goals and objectives of the school is key. In conjunction with the principal assures that programs that deal with the Catholic identity of the school are planned, implemented and evaluated as directed by the Department of Catholic Schools. The Assistant Principal reports directly to the Principal.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to):

• Assist the principal in defining the school's mission and communicating goals and expectations of the total school program
• Provide instructional leadership, in concert with the principal, for the implementation of the curriculum of the Archdiocese of Baltimore
• Assist in coordinating the instructional program of the school in conjunction with the appropriate school and Archdiocese staff
• Assist the principal in supervising the instructional program of the school
• Assist the principal in leading the process of continuous school improvement
• Monitor and assess student achievement and participation outcomes with appropriate data collection and analysis
• Assist the principal in supervising and evaluating the effectiveness of all school personnel

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

• MSDE Admin II certification.
• A minimum of five years teaching experience at the elementary level.
• Three years of teaching experience in a Catholic School preferred.
• Prior experience as an Assistant Principal/Principal preferred.
