Patient Revenue Cycle Specialist Full-time

at Vivida Dermatology Nevada in Nevada (Published at 03-05-2022)

We are seeking someone to join our growing practice that has experience in insurance verification, patient aging, denials, as well as other Revenue Cycle tasks.

Together, you?ll bring your technical expertise, compassion, and excellence to all we do. The ideal candidate will have strong medical billing background and knowledge of both commercial and government insurance.

Experienced in working with multiple disciplines to include physicians, medical providers, and clinical staffing to ensure financial reimbursement is achieved and financial assistance is provided to patients. Will be directly involved in monitoring account reconciliation for provider-client billing. Additionally, this position will work directly with charge capture, coders, HIM, Billing Office, and charge master for an appropriate and accurate account follow-up.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interacting with patients, payers and providers to gather information necessary for accurate registration including assigning of appropriate Medical Record Number, and referral/authorization.
  • Receiving and routing messages received in the department appropriately as well as manages customer billing and payment inquires as needed.
  • Effectively verify insurances; updating or confirming demographic and insurance information on every patient; verifying coverage including benefits, authorization, pre-determination, payer specific policy exclusions or limitations to coverage.
  • Assisting patients with discussing payment arrangement options including financial assistance information, providing price estimates.
  • Regularly displaying a proactive approach to customer service by listening to the patient, taking ownership of solutions and being able to accurately identify the need to involve leadership in order to resolve concerns.
  • Acting as a member of the patient care team by supporting the clinical care staff in the care of the patient.

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 2 years experience with Nevada and Federal Insurances.
  • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency of computer applications, excellent mathematical skills and ability to handle monies.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills; innovative with ability to identify and solve problems.
  • Able to adapt, prioritize and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience in customer service or healthcare/medical office environment.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, commercial and government health insurance and billing guidelines, ACA requirements, understanding of DRG's, Medical ICD9/ICD10 codes and CPT/HCPC Codes and Modifiers.

Starting rate is $18.50 based on education and experience.
