What Your Job Will Be Like

his is a new and exciting opportunity to continue developing a new business model created for the ND Electronic Parts Program and enable our team to deliver on our commitment to transform how commercial electronic products are used on the W87┬┐1, W93 and future ND programs. In this role you will lead the interface with advanced and exploratory and systems engineering to identify requirements for future technologies that will be needed to enable system and mission requirements. Partnering with engineering organizations in 7640, science & technology organizations in Centers 1300 and 1800, supply chain analysts in Center 10200, you?ll help steer the technical direction of the commercial electronic parts portfolio for use in ND design.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Lead technical boards steering investments in development of new commercial technologies
  • Interface with external part manufacturers to understand emerging technology in the market
  • Partner with external agencies (e.g., NSWC-Crane, NASA)
  • Engage with outside high-reliability electronic component forums (e.g., CALCE)
  • Partner with advanced and exploratory systems to identify potential requirements and technologies needed
  • Co-develop comprehensive risk assessment methodology for the electronic parts program
  • Create risk-based plans for technology selection
  • Lead make/buy/reuse decisions for high-reliability electronic components
  • Shape direction and ensure alignment of effort for multiple electronic parts program teams
  • Participate in the development and update of the 5-year technology roadmap
  • Lead diverse technical strategic and tactical planning activities
  • Write/update technical standards documents

Qualifications We Require

  • Bachelor?s and master?s degrees in relevant STEM discipline, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Equivalent experience in lieu of degrees must be engineering or scientific experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform independent research and development.
  • Plus, five or more years of engineering or scientific experience that demonstrates the
  • Ability to obtain a DOE Q level security clearance and ability to obtain Sigma15 level access

  • Experience working in ND Systems organization
  • Experience/familiarity with ND design processes and tools
  • Experience/familiarity with commercial electronic part data and/or processes
  • Experience working with KCNSC

About Our Team

Department 7645 was created at the conclusion of the FY21 COTS Transformation Implementation Campaign to manage the ongoing activities and processes that the Campaign put into place. These ongoing activities constitute the Electronic Parts Program (EPP) and include contributions from many organizations that are required to successfully manage the maturation of commercial technologies for assured use in nuclear deterrent systems.

Department 7645 leads the EPP through integrated planning activities, execution management, and communication across the participating organizations and with sponsor organizations. The department also executes integrated program management functions by designing and executing well┬┐integrated communication and alignment systems, data streams for visibility of status and baselines, change control, and shared awareness and understanding between the participating organizations.

Security Clearance
