Field Service Technician Mid-Atlantic Region ? GEA Pharma Equipment, North America The Field Service Technician is responsible for installations, mechanical service, and technical support of GEA equipment and/or process systems on customer sites throughout North America. Field service support is primarily completed by traveling to customer facilities to provide service and repair, commission of systems, in house as well as remote troubleshooting and onsite customer training. (Equipment primarily includes, Solid Dosage, Continuous and Wet Granulation systems for Pharma)

Your responsibilities and tasks:

Responsibilities / Tasks

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned as required.

  • Coordinate and/or perform installation, commissioning and training of GEA?s product line
  • Perform routine maintenance procedures, emergency service as well as warranty work on GEA?s current and former product lines
  • Troubleshoot and repair of Pharma equipment and systems
  • Assist other departments in the development of new products and the improvement of existing products
  • Prepare and communicate inspection reports and protocols
  • Initiate recommendations for improved tools, procedures, and devices for service operations
  • Submit time sheets, reports, and other required paperwork on completion of assignments
  • Provide technical training to users/customers
  • Perform rebuild to GEA powder packaging and other equipment components
  • Perform other duties as assigned

The position can be based in one of our company sites or remote and can be based anywhere in the Mid-Atlantic Region with an ideal location in Central New Jersey area based on customer concentration

Your profile and qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Professional or Collegial Diploma (Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology, Heavy Duty Mechanic, Industrial automation equipment or similar)
  • At least 7 years? experience servicing mechanical manufacturing systems, automation / PLC and HMI programming, or equipment
  • Ability to perform PLC and HMI code changes and troubleshoot PLC and HMI systems.
  • Ability to read hydraulic, mechanical, electrical schematics, and to troubleshoot.
  • Demonstrate ability to coordinate teamwork
  • Must have strong communication skills
  • Valid driver?s license is required
  • May be required to work on-call and extended hours which may include weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to travel across Canada, United-States and overseas, as required
  • Up to 75 ? 80% travel.
  • Must understand GEA process designs
  • Must be detail oriented and possess a learning mindset
  • Must be able to work independently and under time restraints
  • Must possess good English language communication both verbal and written.
  • Must be self-motivated.
