Description
SAIC is looking for an Electro Mechanical Technician to support the US Navy in Crane, IN.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The candidate will fabricate electronic, electrical, electro-mechanical, and mechanical assemblies such as cables, wire harnesses, enclosures, panels, and circuit cards. Candidate must be able to perform these duties using engineering drawings, technical specifications, and work instructions. Candidate will work on assignments that are semi-routine in nature where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required.
JOB DUTIES
- Constructing components, subunits, or simple models or adapts standard equipment; may troubleshoot and correct malfunctions;
- Following specific layout and scientific diagrams to construct and package simple devices and subunits of equipment.
- Conducting various tests or experiments which may require minor modifications in test setups or procedures as well as subjective judgments in measurement, selecting, preparing, and operating standard test equipment and records test data.
- Extracting and compiling a variety of engineering data from field notes, manuals, lab reports, etc., processing data, identifying errors or inconsistencies, selecting methods of data presentation.
- Assisting in design modification by compiling data related to design, specifications, and materials that are pertinent to specific items of equipment or component parts; developing information concerning previous operational failures and modifications, and using judgment and initiative to recognize inconsistencies or gaps in data and seek sources to clarify information.
Qualifications
DESIRED SKILLS
- Solder certification, Fiber optics technician certification, other technical type certifications, and previous technical hands-on experience.
- Experience and proven skill set with small, detailed electronic, electrical, or electro-mechanical type work such as circuit cards, electrical enclosures and panels, electrical cables and harnesses, component wiring and soldering.
- Must be a self-starter and work with minimal supervision.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE
- High School Diploma and 7+ year?s proven experience and skills in electronic, electrical, and/or mechanical assembly.
- Ability to read & understand engineering drawings and specifications.
- Proficient written & verbal communication skills.
- Good organization and attention to detail.
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must be able to obtain clearance up to the level of SECRET.
- Active SECRET (or above) clearance is preferred.
