Overview:
The Small Business Account Executive will report to the JA Counter Chief Client Officer or Department Lead. Considered a Sales and Service role, the Small Business Account Executive has the primary responsibility for client satisfaction, retention and growth of JA Counter?s Small Business client segment. Position requires extensive contact with small business owners, community-members and internal strategic partners to identify and cultivate new prospective clients through relationships, events, networking and by providing fanatical attention to service, consistency & detail.
The Small Business Account Executive is a critical position in supporting our role in the community by providing a valuable service to small businesses ? developing relationships with key decision makers, understanding their business, and showing areas that could help strengthen and grow their organization. To be successful in this role, you must be business-savvy, have excellent people skills, be passionate about creating value for small businesses, have experience with client service in a high-volume market, and meeting sales targets by sourcing and developing leads through various channels.

- Meet with clients and prospects to profile their employee benefit and human capital goals, develop a strategy and present appropriate products and services to fulfill the goals of the client or prospect;
- Build relationships with client decision makers to develop trusted consultant relationship that supports the successful, long-term strategic partnership and achievement of their organizational and benefit goals;
- Conduct prospect discovery, needs analysis and all aspects of the sales process to complete new client sales;
- Act as a compliance resource to clients providing guidance and education on compliance issues and regulations affecting their employee benefit plans;
- Partner with support team to provide excellent, unified service to clients;
- Maintain CRM documentation of direct encounters with clients and prospects;
- Adhere to client service model and timelines developed to maintain profitable business while delighting the client;
- Maintain a strong and productive working relationship with carriers and a clear understanding of the products and services offered;
- Ability to conduct employee meetings to educate on benefit decisions, utilization of plans and consumerism;
- Attend social functions in the community as opportunities present themselves, representing JA Counter in a professional manner.
- Adhere to all corporate compliance and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Represent JA Counter, Alera Group in the highest regard internally and externally.
Education
- Bachelor?s degree in business or related disciplines such as marketing, accounting, finance, data analytics, or equivalent experience.
- Must have or obtain WI & MN Life and Health License within 90 days of employment.
- Minimum three (3) years of industry experience.
Experience
- Proven B2B sales and/or business development experience preferred.
- Demonstrated success in client service with small businesses.
- Experience selling to small business owners.
- Experience selling through the development of strong network connections and referrals by providing excellent client service.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems.
