Roles and Responsibilities: An Escrow Officer should be able to perform all duties related to the facilitation and closing of a real estate transaction. The primary responsibilities are listed in this description. In addition, an Escrow Officer is expected to uphold First Dakota Title?s Core Values in their actions and words in conjunction with the responsibilities described below. The responsibilities of an escrow officer in facilitating a residential real estate transaction closing include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Drafting settlement statements and Closing Disclosures using information from purchase agreements and lender instructions
- Working with lenders, realtors, and parties to the transaction to obtain any and all necessary information in order to close the transaction
- Following protocols for re-verification of settlement numbers with lenders to mitigate risk and reduce loss
- Reviewing the Closing Disclosure, settlement statements, title commitment, and other related documents for transactions to ensure all title insurance and closing requirements have been satisfied
- Presenting papers and notarizing documents in the closing office
- Communicating effectively with First Dakota Title?s clients, which includes lenders, realtors, and their customers
