Job Overview:
As a Rental Technician/Ski Check you are responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the rental shop and providing friendly and efficient service to all guests of Taos Sports.
This job description is intended to be a broad description of duties. You will be expected to carry-out all responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Follows established procedures and instructions for operation of all tools and equipment.
- Demonstrates awareness of the Rental/Repair Shop?s safety and security practices as they affect him/herself, fellow employees as well as guests.
- Assist and greet guests in storage and retrieval of snow sports equipment.
- Assist guests in taking ski and snowboard boots on and off.
- Possesses good people skills sufficient to assist guests in a helpful, friendly, and courteous manner; be tolerant of the diversity of personalities experienced with co-workers and guests; make the rental experience for TSV guests a positive one.
- Has high personal job motivation from the beginning of the season that carries through to the end.
- Accepts and benefits from constructive criticism.
- Establishes and maintains productive work relationships with co-workers, other TSV staff, Supervisors and Management.
- Actively supports the basic philosophies of TSV set forth in the Statement of Purpose.
- Enthusiastically approaches all aspects of the job outlined in this job description and other tasks asked to endeavor. Is eager to perform assigned tasks self-confidently and without detailed instructions.
- Does his/her part to create a pleasant shop atmosphere and displays a ready smile and is a team worker.
- Handles busy/high pressure situations with tact and good judgment.
- Recognizes situations within his/her sphere of responsibility and is quick to act to solve them.
- Maintains a professional, yet appropriate to the Repair Shop and Taos Ski Valley, appearance and attire as described in the Employee Handbook.
- Reliable attendance on all scheduled work days

Qualifications/Knowledge:
- Must have basic computer navigating skills.
- Must be certified on 3 types of bindings
- Is trained in safe, accurate and proper operation of machinery at TSV, Inc.
- Uses standard tuning and equipment repair procedures.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and evenings.
Work Environment:
Attendance is mandatory for all scheduled workdays. The workday starts at 8:00 AM and ends usually around 5:30-6:00 PM. Tardiness cannot be tolerated. It is usually an 8-hour shift that includes holidays and weekends. Overtime may be required. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. TSVI is located in a high altitude alpine environment. Position may require travel on uneven, snow packed, or icy terrain and may be exposed to wet, cold and/or humid conditions.
