Administrative Supervisor Full-time

at Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch Montana in Montana (Published at 16-11-2021)

Position Summary: At Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch, we count on our Administrative Supervisors to provide leadership in providing trauma-informed mental health services in their region of responsibility. They will serve as an active member of the Leadership Team, partnering with other leaders working to assure adherence to the mission and values of Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch. The Administrative Supervisor will actively work to attain the strategic goals established in the strategic plan. Additionally, they will serve as a primary point of contact with outside agencies and partners.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

  • Monitor Administrative Rules of Montana, Council on Accreditation, and other governing bodies, including a mental health center and child-placing agency, licensing.
  • Facilitate and participate in meetings appropriate to the role as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Assist in planning, designing, implementing, and evaluating the policies and procedures for all YBGR Community based programs.
  • Contribute to community outreach and public relations of each community in the assigned area.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders and engage in regular communication, program planning, and problem-solving.
  • Contribute to the strategic goals and outcomes of the agency as measured by the development and achievement of individual, departmental, and organizational goals and outcomes. Participate in the organization's Performance Quality Improvement (PQI) goals both individually and as a team member.
  • Deal constructively and helpfully with all other members of the organization.
  • Fully support and model the mission and values of YBGR.
  • Adhere to all policies, systems, safety requirements, and procedures of the organization.
  • Take the initiative to identify problems and seek out solutions.
  • Be a professional representative of the organization to those outside it.
  • Participate and engage in monthly supervision/coaching meetings with the supervisor.
  • Be aware of the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of persons served.
  • Participate in required training as appropriate to the position and beneficial to YBGR.
  • On-call duties as assigned, including face-to-face response when necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Duties: Supervises assigned community-based program staff and manages subordinates as outlined in the supervisory duties below.

  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of community-based operations of their region.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Coaches, supports, and mentors program staff by directing their work, ensuring the youth and families needs are adhered to, and assigning specific duties to subordinate staff.
  • Partners with the Regional Clinical Managers through communication about staff and program needs.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training employees. Conducts staff evaluations, job performance management (including coaching/counseling), and corrective action.
  • Responsible for ensuring appropriate staff training and education programs are provided.
  • Schedule and conduct regular monthly individual supervision of direct reports, including team supervision when needed.
  • Demonstrates effective team management toward achievement of goals, including appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

Position Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor?s Degree in Human Services related field of study from an accredited university.
  • Previous Professional Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in the human services field.
  • License and/or Certification: License to operate passenger vehicle

    • Leadership skills: The Administrative Supervisor will possess a dynamic, collaborative style. They will lead by example and demonstrate a strong commitment to relational leadership.
    • Influencing skills: The Administrative Supervisor must be able to influence others through their credibility and leadership skills
    • Ability to build rapport and maintain good working relationships with team members, partner agencies & staff, and other stakeholders.
    • Knowledge of behavior modification and age-appropriate child development
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent time management skills, organizational skills, and flexibility
    • Excellent active listening skills.
    • Good computer skills and able to quickly learn and use YBGR selected software solutions.
    • Good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Criminal / Child Abuse Clearance: Must pass criminal record and child abuse registry background check as required by the State of Montana.
