INTERNATIONAL LOGISTICS SR MANAGER Full-time

§ Broad general knowledge of logistics and a deep working knowledge of International Logistics work streams to include origin consolidation processes and domestic transload
§ Ability to build key business relationships with internal and external business partners

Bachelor?s degree in logistics or business administration required. Requires a minimum of 5 - 8 years of work experience, at least 4 of which must have been in the logistics and transportation arena supporting a large-scale transportation and logistics network. International logistics experience preferred but not required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
Primary execution leader for international logistics operations across the network of Dollar General freight forwarders, ocean carriers, ports, import centers, and key service providers. Responsible for implementing carrier and service provider strategies, managing international logistics procurement activity, standardizing process and procedures for international logistics operations, leading international freight pay and audit activity as well as financial reporting and ensuring on-time customer delivery and accuracy in reporting. Manages staff responsible for operational execution, management of outsourced service providers, reporting, analytics and freight pay activity.
o Origin and Ocean Freight Operations
o Set strategy for origin and ocean freight services to include identifying opportunities to increase efficiency, reduce cost and improve accuracy
o Manage Dollar General ocean carriers including but not limited to the provision of weekly volume forecasts, special lift requirements, project cargo and peak planning
o Monitor ocean carrier performance on space allocation, transit time adherence and on-time delivery
o Perform monthly carrier review assessing forecast accuracy, allocation, carrier lift reporting and progress on MQC at individual carrier level
o Lead annual ocean carrier bid, selection process and contract negotiations
o Manage freight forwarder responsible for all order management and data reporting functions

o Port Activity & Operations
o Partner with Ocean Carriers and port terminal operators to ensure efficient flow of goods through port operations
o Manage import accessorial program, working with ocean carriers, terminals and destination team to minimize port related demurrage and detention
o Build and maintain relationships with port leadership teams

o Import Financial Reporting
o Produce all monthly financial reports to include accruals, performance to plan and financial forecast
o Present monthly financial results to the leadership team explaining gaps in performance to plan
o Develop annual financial plan for international transportation
o Produce weekly financial receipt forecast ensuring quarterly plans are communicated and achieved

o Import Freight Pay and Audit Activity
o Provide oversight of all import freight pay activity to include all nodes of the import supply chain
o Ensure invoices are paid within contract terms, managing disputes and escalations to reach resolution
o Provide oversight for development and maintenance of import invoice tracking system to account for all payment activity and necessary quantitative and qualitative information for audit purposes

o International Reporting & Analytics
o Design and implement standardized reporting and dashboards that monitors carrier performance, on-time delivery, milestone tracking and all related shipment cost
o Supervise the daily, weekly, monthly, annual and ad-hoc report administration by Dollar General International staff and external parties
o Responsible for administration of Set Tracking and Receipt Tracking on a weekly basis, identifying and communicating risk to the business
o Analyze reporting to highlight trends that support business decision making and identify areas of opportunity
o Lead analytics for strategic projects to include data collection, modeling, and creation of presentation material

o Team Development and Performance Management
o Responsible for the professional development of assigned team to include training, coaching, and work assignment designed to promote team and individual growth
o Hire, manage and conduct performance and development reviews of assigned team
o Manage workload and assist with issues across the HR spectrum for the assigned team
o Drive engagement within the department to include employee satisfaction, manager effectiveness and community involvement
