Position Description
Our Customer Support Professionals respond to any customer who reaches it through telephone, e-mail, web request, online chat, text, or Naval Message on either the high or low side. The most frequent customers are active duty and reserve sailors and their families, retirees and their families, government civilians and contractors. knowledge base.
The successful Customer Support Professional will enjoy working in a team atmosphere and being a passionate advocate for his or her customers. New employees must complete training on a variety of database and support programs, must pass a Customer Support Professional certification, and may be required to become Security + certified. NAVY 311 personnel work on twice yearly rotating shifts and must be able to staff all shifts and be available to help cover absences and time off. Additionally, candidates should be flexible, positive, courteous, deadline-oriented professionals who are committed to providing patient, knowledgeable, and timely customer service. The candidate must research and resolve customer requests for assistance by either referring their case to the authoritative source of support or finding it within the knowledge base.
Any given day, NAVY 311 will handle a wide variety of questions ranging from requests for technical assistance and troubleshooting, family issues and Chaplain requests, password resets and related IT issues, to building maintenance issues and personnel questions and problems.
Position Qualifications
  • Military experience is required - Retired Naval personnel are preferred
  • Must possess a active Secret clearance OR have had one within one year prior
  • Must have extensive experience in one of the following areas: Fleet Support Management, Training Expertise, H,M&E (Hull, Mechanical and Electrical), ILS (Integrated Logistics Support), CS (Combat Systems), C5I (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Collaboration, and Intelligence), OPS (Operations), IT (Information Technology)
  • Good knowledge of Navy acronyms, equipment, systems and operations
  • Must speak clear and fluent English with correct intonation
  • Must be able to write clearly, using correct spelling and punctuation
  • Must be able actively listen and record data into the service request tracking system
  • To be considered candidates will have a demonstrated experience and ability in working on a team, creative problem solving, and customer service skills
  • Punctuality is mandatory
