Assistant Property Manager Full-time

Job Summary

The Assistant Property Manager is responsible to execute the approved management plan with responsibilities in management, leasing, marketing, resident relations, maintenance, finance and overall operation of the designated location. The Assistant Property Manager supports the Property Manager to uphold Company standards, adhere to applicable federal and state laws to operate an operationally sound, fiscally responsible and profitable business fostering a positive and professional client and employee experience.

Essential Duties

  • Create and maintain lasting customer service relationship with current and potential residents
  • Maintain physical appearance and operational function of the property to company standards
  • Conduct daily inspections of the property and take corrective action as needed
  • Maintain current market understanding and competitive strategy
  • Communicate and enforce community rules and policies to achieve desired community culture
  • Manage budgets, financial reporting and accounts on a daily, weekly or monthly basis
  • Maximize occupancy and minimize delinquency
  • Ensure property and work environment is organized, clean and safe

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is required
  • College degree preferred
  • 1+ year of community management experience preferred
  • Certified Property Manager (CPM), Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) certification(s) preferred
  • Yardi experience a plus
  • Customer service and sales aptitude and/or experience, interpersonal and follow up skills for effective interaction with residents, prospects, employees and other business contacts
  • Knowledge of real estate industry, market trends, prices, and state and federal housing regulations
  • Must be able to work with multiple deadlines, maintaining efficiency and control over projects assigned within timeframes allowed and changing priorities
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet deadlines and property needs
  • Ability to work and succeed in a multicultural environment

Physical Demands/Work Environment

  • Work is normally performed in office environment, within building
  • Routine exposure to outside elements such as temperature and weather to conduct physical property
  • inspections
  • Constant need to simultaneously use hand, wrist, and fingers to operate office equipment
  • Work in inclement weather
